Joseph Brown, MD grew up in Monticello and is a 2002 graduate of Wayne County High School.  He received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences, graduating summa cum laude with honors in Biology in 2006.  He then went on to medical school at UK, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society before graduating with high distinction in 2010.  He completed a combined residency in two specialties, internal medicine and pediatrics, at the UK Chandler Medical Center and Kentucky Children’s Hospital from 2010-2014.  While in residency at UK he received multiple teaching and performance awards.

Pediatricians specialize in the care of children, and Internists are doctors who specialize in adult medicine.  His dual training in both specialties allows him to care for both routine and complicated health problems in patients of all ages, from infancy through adulthood.   He is a member of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians.  Dr. Brown enjoys routine preventive health care as well as managing acute problems and chronic illnesses. 

He and his wife reside in Monticello and have two children.
